Changes in the price of staple agricultural commodities affect producers through changes in real incomes, affecting household labour decisions. The paper studies the relationship between rice price changes and child labour supply in Bangladesh. Using an extensive, representative survey of rural households in 2011, 2015 and 2018, this study finds that higher rice prices are associated with increased child labour in Bangladesh.
