This paper examines the link between land ownership security and household food security among 256 farm households in Cambodia, utilising survey data conducted in 2014 among 32 rural villages in four provinces. The estimates show that households with a 1-standard-deviation-higher percentage of land security is able to reduce the odds of food insecurity by between 40-44 per cent. When land property rights security improves by 1 score, the number of weeks that households experience food insecurity drops by between 1.8 to 2.2 weeks annually. The results suggest further that land security appears to have positive impacts on rice productivity, collateral, and credit access.
