The Thailand Update 2011 Conference provides outreach from the academic community to the broader community in Australia interested in political and economic events in Thailand. It also aims to deepen research linkages between scholars in Thailand, Australia and elsewhere with a shared interest in Thailand. The theme of the conference is “Policy Issues for Thailand’s New Government”. Two principal areas will be covered. First, the principal political and economic events affecting Thailand over the past two years. Second, the economic and political issues that are relevant for the incoming Pheu Thai government.
